One of the questions business owners ask us most is a simple one: how much does it cost to rank a business on Google? And what exactly do you get for the money? Many answers online are vague ("it depends"), or try to sell a package before explaining what you're buying. In this guide we break down what sets the price of Google Business Profile SEO, the price ranges you'll see on the market, what our packages cost, and how to check whether the investment pays for itself in your business.
The short answer
A managed Google Business Profile SEO service in the Israeli market usually costs between ₪500 and ₪5,000 a month before VAT. The price is set mainly by the number of keywords you target, the level of competition in your industry and the size of the area.
VeloLinx's price list is public: from ₪800 a month for 3 keywords up to ₪2,200 a month for 15 keywords, all prices before VAT and with no fixed term.
VeloLinx's Google Business Profile SEO price list
The four packages differ in the number of keywords, the volume of authority building for your profile and how often rankings are measured on the heatmap. All prices are monthly and before VAT:
| Package | Keywords | Monthly price | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local Spotlight | 3 | ₪800 + VAT | A business with one main service and one area that wants to start with the keywords that make the phone ring |
| Local Momentum | 6 | ₪1,200 + VAT | A business already getting inquiries from the map that wants to expand to more services or neighborhoods |
| Map Dominance | 10 | ₪1,700 + VAT | A business in a crowded market or with a wide service area, where rankings change from one neighborhood to the next |
| Map Empire | 15 | ₪2,200 + VAT | Chains and businesses with several branches or several service areas |
Every package includes a local ranking heatmap and a monthly report in plain language. Not sure how many keywords you need? We laid out the considerations in our guide how many keywords to target on your Google Business Profile (in Hebrew).
Why is there no single price for ranking on Google Maps?
When you ask how much Google SEO costs for a local business, the answer depends on four variables. Once you understand them, you can assess any quote that comes your way.
1. The number of keywords you target
Do you want to show up for 3 main searches (for example שיפוצניק ברמת גן, "renovator in Ramat Gan," שיפוץ דירות רמת גן, "apartment renovation Ramat Gan," and קבלן שיפוצים רמת גן, "renovation contractor Ramat Gan") or for 15 searches that cover both specific services and different neighborhoods? Every additional keyword is a separate ranking arena that needs measurement, optimization and authority building, so the monthly price rises with the number of keywords. That's why professional packages are priced in tiers of 3, 6, 10 and 15 keywords.
2. The level of competition in your industry
Ranking for רופא שיניים בתל אביב ("dentist in Tel Aviv") takes much more work than ranking for טכנאי מזגנים בשוהם ("AC technician in Shoham"). In competitive industries (lawyers, doctors, appraisers, renovation contractors in big cities) you need to build more authority signals to move up on the map. In niches with fewer competitors, the same investment moves your profile faster.
3. The geographic area
A business that wants to show up in one mid-sized city doesn't need the same SEO strength as a business that wants to cover the whole Gush Dan metro area, from Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan to Petah Tikva and Rehovot. The wider the area, the more businesses you compete against, and the cost of ranking on Google Maps rises accordingly.
4. The state of your profile today
A verified profile with photos, reviews, posts and a long history needs less groundwork than a profile opened this year that's still empty. It's similar to SEO for a website: climbing from zero to the first page takes more work than holding and improving an existing position.
Do it yourself or a managed service: the real cost
Some of the work you can do yourself, for free. Creating and verifying the profile costs nothing, and basic optimization, uploading photos and publishing posts are things you can learn. But there's a big difference between maintaining a profile and systematically ranking it against competitors who are doing the same thing.
Simple math: say an hour of your work is worth ₪200 before VAT, and you put 10 hours a month into doing the SEO yourself. That's ₪2,000 worth of your time every month, before VAT, and you still haven't built any outside authority signals, which are what move a profile up against strong competitors.
What a good managed service gives you that's hard to achieve on your own:
- Building authority signals for your profile: links and mentions on outside sites that point to the profile and to your website. This is a central part of what Google calls prominence, one of the three factors that determine local ranking according to Google's official explanation.
- Mentions and shares on social networks that point to the profile and strengthen its presence.
- Ongoing maintenance: posts, updates to opening hours, new photos and responses to reviews.
- Heatmap tracking: checking the ranking from dozens of points across the area, to see where the profile is green and where it's still red. You'll find a full explanation in our guide to the local ranking heatmap.
- A monthly report: what improved, and how many impressions, direction requests and phone calls came from the profile.
What are the price ranges on the market?
These are the ranges you'll see in quotes on the Israeli market. All amounts are before VAT:
On your own
₪0 to ₪200 a month before VAT in direct spending on tools, plus many hours of work. It suits a business in a non-competitive industry that has time to learn. Without building outside authority signals, progress will be limited.
Entry package: 3 keywords and a limited area
Usually ₪500 to ₪900 a month before VAT. It suits a small business in a mid-sized city with low to medium competition.
For comparison, the Local Spotlight package costs ₪800 a month + VAT and includes 3 keywords, authority signal building for your profile and a heatmap that updates every month.
Mid-tier package: 6 to 10 keywords
Usually ₪1,000 to ₪2,200 a month before VAT. It suits many local businesses: doctors, renovation contractors, lawyers, beauticians, plumbers and cafes. At this level you should get systematic authority building, geographic tracking and reporting.
Advanced package: 10 to 15 keywords and wide coverage
Usually ₪2,500 to ₪5,000 a month or more, before VAT. It suits a business that wants to cover a large area, a very competitive industry, or anyone who also adds SEO for the website alongside the profile.
You'll find the full breakdown of each tier, what it includes and what's added at each stage, on our Google Business Profile SEO packages page.
What exactly do you pay for in a managed service?
When you pay for Google SEO for your business every month, it's worth knowing what should be happening behind the scenes. In a professional service, the monthly work includes:
- Authority signals for your profile: consistent mentions of your name, address and phone number (NAP) on relevant business sites and directories, and outside content that links to the profile and to your website.
- Profile posts: updates worded to match the keywords you target, with a call to action and a relevant photo.
- Reviews: tracking new reviews, writing professional responses, and guidance when a negative review comes in.
- Photos and media: new photos that show Google and customers that the business is active.
- Heatmap: a comparison between months, a check of which points turned green, and corrective actions in the areas that stayed red.
- A monthly report: impressions, clicks, calls and direction requests that came through the profile.
How do you calculate the return on investment?
Before you ask how much the SEO costs, ask how much one new customer is worth to your business.
An example: say you run a plumbing business. A new customer's first job is worth ₪800 to ₪3,000 to you, before VAT, and a returning customer is worth much more over time. The Local Spotlight package costs ₪800 a month + VAT. If your profile brings in one new customer a month, the SEO pays for itself, and every additional customer is profit.
The rule for a local business: if one customer a month covers the cost of the SEO, everything beyond that is profit. How long it takes to get there depends on the competition and your starting point, so there's no timeline anyone can commit to. What you can do is check every month, on the heatmap and in your profile data, whether you're heading in the right direction.
Google Business Profile SEO isn't a switch that flips on tomorrow. It builds authority that accumulates, and unlike paid advertising, that authority doesn't disappear the day you stop paying. You'll find a detailed calculation with examples by industry in our guide how many customers a top-three spot on the map brings in (in Hebrew).
Website SEO versus Google Business Profile SEO
A question that comes up a lot: should you do SEO for the website or for the profile? For a local business, Google Business Profile SEO is usually the right starting point, because:
- In local search, the map results usually appear above the website results and take up the top of the screen on mobile.
- Someone searching אינסטלטור קרוב אליי ("plumber near me") wants to act now: call, get directions or send a message straight from the profile.
- The work on the profile is more focused than full website SEO, which also requires content, links to the site and technical work.
The ideal is to combine the two, because a strong website also strengthens the profile. If the budget is limited, start with the profile, and once it's generating inquiries, add organic SEO for the website.
Red flags in price quotes
When you review quotes, watch for these signs:
- "First place on Google within a week": that's not how it works. Google builds trust in a business gradually.
- A commitment to a specific position: nobody controls Google. Anyone who commits to an exact position isn't telling you the truth, or is measuring a keyword nobody searches for.
- Packages with a double-digit monthly price: for that kind of money you can't build authority, write content and measure rankings. It's usually a worthless automated action, which may even harm your profile.
- Reporting that isn't transparent: ask in advance what will appear in the monthly report. If there's no clear answer, move on.
At VeloLinx, pricing is public and based on the number of keywords, you get a heatmap and a report every month, and there's no fixed term: cancellation takes effect from the next cycle, with notice at least 7 days before renewal.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Google Business Profile SEO cost per month?
A managed service on the market usually costs between ₪500 and ₪5,000 a month before VAT, depending on the number of keywords, the competition in your industry and the area. A small business in a mid-sized city with 3 keywords is usually at the low end of the range, and a business covering a wide area in a competitive industry is at the upper end. VeloLinx's packages cost ₪800, ₪1,200, ₪1,700 or ₪2,200 a month before VAT, depending on the number of keywords.
Do the prices include VAT?
No. All the prices in this guide, both the market ranges and our price list, are shown before VAT. When you compare quotes, make sure they're all presented the same way.
What's the difference between Google Ads and Google Business Profile SEO?
Paid advertising (Google Ads) appears as long as you pay, and stops the day the budget runs out. Google Business Profile SEO builds organic authority that stays even after you slow down. The two can complement each other, but for a local business with a limited budget, the profile is usually the better long-term investment.
How long does it take to rank on Google Maps?
There's no timeline anyone can commit to, because the pace depends on the competition in your industry, the area and the state of your profile at the starting point. In less competitive industries, movement usually shows up sooner. The monthly heatmap shows exactly which points moved and which still need work.
Should I do SEO for just my Google Business Profile, or for my website too?
For a local business, the profile is usually the starting point, because the map results grab attention in local searches. If the budget allows, combining it with SEO for the website gives a double advantage, because a strong website also strengthens the profile.
What does a professional Google Business Profile SEO service include?
Building outside authority signals for the profile, regular posts, photo updates, review management, heatmap tracking and a transparent monthly report with impressions, clicks and calls. The higher packages add more keywords, more frequent tracking and competitor analysis.
Can I cancel the service?
Yes. There's no fixed term. Cancellation takes effect from the next cycle, with notice at least 7 days before the renewal date, and the profile stays fully yours the whole way.
